Green Economy North members have access to a wide variety of support,
from technical workshops to one-on-one coaching. Achievements are celebrated by the community through media
coverage, special publications, and events.
We will start with an assessment of all your organizations sources of GHG emissions, vital to assess your current carbon footprint
and determine your exposure to a new carbon pricing policies. You will receive a report meeting the ISO 14064-1 standard.
We provide an ASHRAE Level 1.5 audit of your facility to identify immediate projects to reduce energy consumption and
GHG emission. Our supported audit includes a walkthrough, laser thermography, circuit metering, lighting audit, and is
calculated with a proprietary energy audit tool developed by Mindscape Innovations, a leading commercial energy auditing
firm from Waterloo, Ontario. This audit compares to a full ASHRAE level 2 audit conducted by a certified energy manager, with
a cost starting at $10000.
Assess your solid waste management systems with a waste audit, which determines where you can make reductions.
Support by our team can include direct consultation, data management & carbon accounting, research and guidance on
projects, incentive fund applications, communications, profiling and recognition efforts, green team co-ordination,
action planning support and more.
Using Verisae’s Carbon Accounting Tool, a complex software platform, we will track your carbon emissions against your
baseline year, showing the impact of the action you are taking.
We support you in gathering a Green Team within your business to organize and implement the operational
and behavioural changes which can yield significant cost reductions with little or no capital investment.
Green Economy North will work with your Green Team to produce an Action Plan and support implementation to
deliver significant reductions in energy use and carbon footprint, starting with those that require the least investment
of time and capital.
We bring Canada’s leading experts to Sudbury to build capacity among our membership, who receive free access to all
events and workshops. In our first event season, we hosted workshops with the CEO of Mindscape Innovations,
HP Canada’s Head of Sustainability and Hatch Ltd’s Director of Energy Optimization and Management.
Program members receive regularly updated guides and resources, including Green Team guide,
Idea Book and a directory of available incentives.
Green Economy North is focused on helping you reduce expensive energy usage. As the only target-based sustainability
program in Northern Ontario, we will help you set a goal and work towards reductions of 20% or more. As energy costs
continue to rise, the time to save is now!
The Green Economy North team is experienced in existing incentive programs, and is closely following government
announcements for the introduction of new programs. Members with carbon baselines and action plans established
will be well positioned to access grants expected under the cap and trade program. Some existing incentive programs
are worth up to $200000!

The annual Green Economy North Evening of Recognition highlights the efforts of members to Sudbury’s community
leaders, with an expected attendance of 200+ it is our community’s only “Green Gala” and a great opportunity to be
noticed for environmental leadership. Networking events through the year give you a chance to meet and connect
with businesses from across Sudbury’s economic sectors.

your GHG reduction projects and successes in traditional and social media. Green Economy North members have
