Green Economy North is seeking nominations for Environmental Champion of the Year.
This award will recognize individuals in Greater Sudbury that are working to improve their organizations environmental sustainability. Green Economy North has put the call out to business operators and institutions looking for nominations.
“The environmental champions in our community are making their Sudbury business, institution, or not-for-profit organization more sustainable. We count on them to take the lead, to come up with new ideas and see them implemented.” said Leigha Benford, Communications and Events Coordinator for reThink Green.
The Environmental Champion of the Year will be awarded at Green Economy North’s first annual Evening of Recognition on April 20, 2017. This event will be Greater Sudbury’s ‘green gala’ and will celebrate the efforts and achievements of Green Economy North members - organizations working to reduce their carbon footprint. Admission is free, and will include live music, refreshments, and a cash bar.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing the nominations. We know there are some great candidates in the community and we want to honour them.” Said Benford.
